Redskins get much needed bye week

photo credit: littlerottenrobinThe Washington Redskins left practice Wednesday to get much needed rest for injuries to players, and to get a much needed breath of fresh air. Redskin coach Jim Zorn said “We have a great opportunity to get refreshed and come back. That`s our focus.” Washington who now trails the New York Giants by 1.5 games in the NFC East and is ahead of Philadelphia by a half game, can not afford to go on a losing streak this deep into the season in this division. Lately, they have been settling for 3 points inside of the red zone, instead of the 7 they need to win. That has caused them to be 25th currently in scoring this year in NFL Football.
If they can put behind the ugly 23-6 loss on Monday night to the Steelers, and get back to playing their type of smash-mouth football, things will be just fine in the nation`s capital. The offensive line must do better to protect Jason Campbell so he can find time to connect with his receivers. Santana Moss can use the time to heal his sore hamstring that limited him to just 2 catches Monday. Star back Clinton Portis will also rest his sore calves that have bothered him of late. This isn`t the time to panic in Washington, but to get back to what was making this team so successful early.
