Redskin quarterback Jason Campbell who threw his first 2 interceptions of the year, was sacked an unbelievable 7 times. It seemed all night that he was on the run from the league`s top ranked defense. They were constantly forcing him to make bad throws, and make bad decisions. They held Clinton Portis to under 51 yards rushing, which says how good this defense is.

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger,  made the score 10-6 just before the half with a 1-yard sneak, but did not return in the second half due to re-injuring his shoulder. Byron Leftwich replaced him, and did a magnificent job. He finished the game 7-10 with129 yards and 1 touchdown, with a q.b. rating of 145.8 for the game. In the 4th quarter with the Steelers up 16-6 with 11:58 to play, Leftwich connected with receiver Santonio Holmes on a 5-yard touchdown pass to seal the Redskins fate making the score 23-6.
