Redskins defense secure win by a yard…

The Washington Redskins defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 10-3 Sunday, thanks to a strong defensive performance. That defense literally sealed the win by a yard on the last play of the game. Donavon McNabb hit receiver Reggie Brown with seconds left, but the Redskins secondary (LaRon Landry, Fred Smoot) hit him in the air and Brown could not break the plane. Time ran out on the Eagles causing them the game to end for them on the one-yard line. In a wild season for the Eagles that has seen another one of their games end in a tie, it seemed only fitting that this would end in yet another weird way.
This was a game that saw Washington quarterback Jason Campbell go 18 for 33 passing with 144 yards, and Clinton Portis score the games only touchdown. Portis finished the game with 22 carries for 70 yards. It will probably be too little, too late for the Redskins (8-7). The three game losing streak is over, but the damage to their season is done.
