Just a week after Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn said he was the worst coach in America, team executive V.P. of football operations (Vinny Cerrato) said that Zorn will lead the team again in 2009. Zorn in his first season as a head coach of the Redskins, has been criticized as the Redskins have faltered down the stretch. Cerrato, who previously has said the team has not talked about replacing Zorn, said Monday that Zorn would return. Cerrato was quoted as saying that Zorn was improving and learning.

 

Washington had a very promising start to this NFL season going 6-2. They have now gone 1-5, recently breaking a 3-game skid with a win over the Eagles. The win put the Redskins at 8-7 on the season and at least they will finish at .500 for the season. If they beat San Francisco on Sunday, they will be assured of a winning season at 9-7. However, 9-7 is better than going 7-9– just ask the Detroit Lions….
